Game Title: Drachenreich/Kneel Before Your God! Test Run System: Fantasy Craft Players Wanted: 3-6 Posting Rate: Weekly, though faster is better. Special Rules: Not for this test run. Advancement Rules: Won't be an issue for this test run. Start at level one.
All right, people, this is just a test run to see how well Fantasy Craft works in actual PbP play. This isn't just for me, though; this is also for those of you who are interested in the Drachenreich and Kneel Before Your God! games I've been toying with for quite some time now. I'm still unsure which one I'll actually run when it comes to it, but I'm hoping to carry all the players for this test run through to the big game, with a poll between the two.
EDIT: Doh! For those of you who haven't been keeping up with the Checking Interest thread, Drachenreich is a story of war, a fantasy realm invaded by Nazis, while Kneel Before Your God! is a similar fantasy realm invaded instead by a Goa'uld System Lord and his legions of Jaffa.
EDIT2: While familiarity with Fantasy Craft would be good, I realize that's highly unlikely, so I'll try to help any newbies to the system as much as I can and will walk you through character creation (or do the write-up for you based on concept if you prefer).

By the way, for those who don't know Fantasy craft, here is a blog that has some great info. In essence, though, Fantasy Craft is D20 fantasy focused on options. In D&D or even Pathfinder, a level one fighter tends to be awfully similar to any other level one fighter, differing only in a +1 bonus here or there, depending on your feat. Tactics generally boil down to "run up and hit it." In Fantasy Craft, the fighter-equivalent class is the soldier, and here are two level one soldier builds from the blog above that show just how diverse they can be even at level one. Orc Fighter SoldierWily Human Fist SoldierYou can see how different they are. And within each build, there are a number of options available during combat.

For the test run, go wild. Build me either the level one character you want to play for the final game (whichever it may be) or just try some off-the-wall setup so we can really test the system.
By the way, whichever the game is, I'm thinking orcs will tend more toward lawful evil rather than chaotic evil. Possibly with an eastern samurai theme. With a possible alliance with the dwarves as the dwarven industrial revolution threatens the elven forests.
EDIT: Oh, I would not necessarily be opposed to the use of feats from Spycraft 2.0, particularly the Unarmed Combat feat trees, as it goes into much more detail than Fantasy Craft does.

I'll throw my hat into the ring as well. Reading through that blog now (as I don't own the book) and it seems pretty interesting. I'll send a few character ideas via PM soon.

Man! This completely slipped out of my awareness. I am so sorry. I will get working on a PC ASAP! I don't know how it happened. Just got sucked out of my skull. Maybe there is an Ithilid working at my office in disguise?

I'm still interested too! Was just waiting for this thread to come alive again. I have an FtF adventure to run tonight but can start looking at Fantasy Craft system stuff in a couple days.

This is looking promising. If you have any concepts to pitch, let's see 'em.

For my PC concept, I'm thinking of a play on the battle sorcerer variant, a kind of basic soldier trained in magic, possibly as a part of a special battalion to counter the threat of the invading Nazis/Gou'ald. The player would be a human Mage with the Fighter Specialty and a Talent that is more physical than mental.
And just as a note, I would prefer the Drachenreich idea over Kneel, but we can talk about that more after the test run.
Question, how long do you expect the test run to last, Cyclone?

I plan to run one premade adventure to ground myself in the system. I can't give you how long in terms of RL time, but it'd be one adventure that lasts about a week, game time, IIRC. Zombies! And you would not be part of a unit specially designed against the Nazi/Goa'uld threat, FYI. I hope to start the main game with the actual invasion itself.
