@Pablo. That's something that can wait until later. I was just wondering if you had and preferences.

@Faerie Dragon. Looks good. As far as how everything will play out with Golden Dawn, that can wait until gameplay... As for the parasol, it'd be cool if it concealed a sword or gun Grin. Psionics won't come into play in this setting, so don't worry about that. If you want to be able to have empathy or something similar, that'll come through Magic, which I'll explain later, once we get into the nitty-gritty of character creation.

Also, I want to remind everyone that you have until Saturday at midnight to post a character concept. I'll be accepting up to 5 players. After that, I'll get a forum set up and we'll work on character creation.

Sweet! Grin

Looking forward to it!

I had actually been considering that she might have studied fencing in school, so a concealed sword would fit.  I hadn't initially thought that she'd feel the need to carry an actual weapon on a regular basis, but I'm getting some backstory ideas to change that... *grins*

Just out of curiosity's sake - have you decided which method we'll use to generate our primary attributes?

Sorry I took so long to post this, I was sparring with the internet. Rant

Sir Walter Guisborough (pronounced Geese-Burrow)
a.k.a. Sir Reginald, Master of Phantasms
a.k.a. Sir Reginald the Magnificent

Sir Walter Guisborough is a baronet (an inherited title) who comes from a family of very rich noblemen that in recent generations had fallen into poverty.  Walter grew up as an only child but his grandfather, who was the last of the Guisboroughs to live in luxury, lived with the family.  When he was a child, Walter’s grandfather told Walter romantic tales of aristocracy.  These tales filled him with the desire to join the ranks of noblemen and restore the family name to its place of former glory.

As a young man Walter left his home to begin his quest for glory and was soon befriended by a strange and wealthy gentleman.  Through a surprising turn of events, Walter found out that the gentleman was actually a thief and member of a secret society of thieves (which he calls the Baltimore Club).  The gentleman offered him an apprenticeship and to teach him the arts of stealth and infiltration.  It was during this time that he discovered a knack for illusion.

Forty years later, Walter, better known as Sir Reginald Master of Phantasms, has become a world-renowned thief, capable of cracking nearly any safe in existence.  It is as Sir Reginald Master of Phantasms when Walter fulfils his ambitions.  However, he also maintains a normal identity as an amateur magician, capable of only the simplest of tricks, with the stage-name Sir Reginald the Magnificent.

Walter has a medium light build and is by no means intimidating in appearance.  He has: intelligent blue eyes, a clean-shaven face, slightly curly silver hair, and a somewhat blocky face with a strong chin.  He is 60 years old but his face doesn’t show it.

Walter Guisborough is light-hearted man that enjoys a good laugh but is very deliberate in everything he does.  He is very intelligent and perceptive and is not easily manipulated.  He will not kill even if it means getting caught nor does he inflict bodily harm; after all he is no common criminal.

I’m thinking the skills I’d major in would be athletics, conceal, stealth, legerdemain, and impersonate.  I also think that I might get engineering, enterprise, and influence.  As far as traits goes, probably wealth, connections, and infamy.  I would give Walter a lot of equipment like smoke bombs, flash bangs, fireworks, complex safecracking devices, etc.  His main weapons are misdirection and misinformation.

@Lady Jayne: I'm thinking that we'll probably use the random method, but that's not my final answer.  Wink

@Mindsiege: I like it. What were you thinking the secret society would be like? As long as it's a loose group (a club, as the name suggests) then it's good. I just don't want a formal "thieves guild" (such as that in the Elder Scrolls video games).

I was thinking that the Baltimore Club is pretty loose.  All you would have to do to get in is to secure a recommendation from a current member and pay a nominal annual fee.  The Club is more of a meeting/gathering place where the members chat, exchange information, and make transactions.  The members include many types of people from the old, retired sages of mischief to fencers and hands for hire.  At the Club you can acquire information, sell hot goods, get advice, and hire help for bigger jobs.  However, despite all the criminal activity going on, the Club retains an atmosphere of sophistication and elegance.

Sounds good Mindsiege.

Okay, everyone, you are all officially in!  Grin I put in a forum request, so hopefully it'll be up pretty soon and we can start in on character creation!

Bah, I just noticed this. Definitely looks interesting. Way past your deadline at this point, but I've got a concept or two I wouldn't mind throwing at you, if you wouldn't mind a latecomer. Also a newbie to the system, but I pick these things up quick.

Sorry I didn't see this sooner. If you're still interested, go ahead and pitch your concepts. I don't know if/how it'll work to incorporate you into the game, but if it's good enough, I'll see what I can do...

We've actually just lost a player, so if there's anyone interested in this, go ahead and post a character idea.
