Chapter 7, Back at Amar.

Sophia and her expedition make their way back to the coast with Eloihm and his people.  Plans are made to investigate the state of Tir'nanog before inviting all of the peoples of Ary'Lorn to what may be a deserted kingdom.  They sail the Endurance and then take the Dragon Rail to the ancient fortress where the Eye of God sits.  Marcus coordinates their arrival at Amar with the return of Alighan and her expedition.  Riding IzZear they arrive at the great fortress only a few minutes before the coaches bringing the Ary'Lorn expedition from the rail station.

Marcus has Alighan and Neo-mish join him at the main gates for the arrival of the others.  It's obvious that there have been more soldiers moved to Amar, and it's also obvious that several foreign dignitaries are present at the fortress.

Marcus greets Sophia and her group as they arrive, "Welcome to Fortress Amar, I am Marcus Kline the Minister of Antiquities.  This is a great day for Tyr and her allies."

The groups are taken inside the fortress to one of the large halls where there is a reception.  Marcus brings Alighan, Sophia and the Major together.  "The King insisted we bring our allies into the fold.  They have been brought up to speed with regards to the findings from the library and the recent expeditions.  They want to share the bounty of these discoveries with everyone, but before that step is taken we want to see if it's possible to get the eye to work and see if these people can go home."

"You have a risky sense of the dramatic, Marcus," Sophia says, sotto voce.

"Risky?  I'm a simple minister and have no idea what you mean child."  Marcus says with a smile.  "I could have asked the sixty foot long Dracon construct to join us, but I don't think our allies are ready for that just yet."

"The King fears, and I tend to agree, that if we try to keep this whole thing a secret for too long we face disaster.  The war that the Black Army was fighting is over ten centuries past, but for all we know it's still going on.  We might need the combined armies of Shahara if trouble decides to pay us a visit."

You can see that although the emasaries from Tir'nonog view Neo-mish with some trepidation, they have chosen to speak with him and be cival.  Many of the diplomats from the allied nations have gathered to listen to them as they relate the details of their visit here during the Dracon Era, details you are already privy to.

"Major, assuming the Eye of God can be made to work I'd like you to have a contingient ready to act as escorts for the Elves back to thier home.  That's assuming they can get you back here again."

OOC: You could ask Alighan.  You've probably been advised that Alighan found an ancient Dracon weapon and a survivor of the Black Army, but that's about it.

"Major, assuming the Eye of God can be made to work I'd like you to have a contingient ready to act as escorts for the Elves back to thier home.  That's assuming they can get you back here again."

The Unexplored Reaches clearly weren't far enough from home.  Now Cecil's being volunteered as a test subject for the Eye of God.  Oh, well.  Duty calls.

"I'll get right on it, Minister."  He intends to start by tracking down the sergeant who should have been training troops to defend the Eye of God in case of unauthorized off-world activation.  Perhaps the sergeant can recommend a few for Elf Escort.

"This is truly excellent news. I'm certain that with the help of Neo-mish and the team here we can get the Eye up and working. It is a wonderful day for Tyr and all it's allies!" Alighan offers each person a warm smile, the cold college school girl she was upon first arrival has flourished into a warm, pleasant woman of enlightened  perspicaciousness. "I'm looking forward to getting started as soon as possible, in fact."

"Well, with any luck from what Neo-mish, Eloihm, and the library can teach us we should be in very good shape."  Marcus says.  After the reception I'll take the guests on a tour of the culture of Tyr and then in the morning we can begin the expedition."

Marcus leaves the group to mingle and make the necessary arrangements for the coming expedition.

"Major, I do hope that you make arrangements to let Sophia and Alighan go with your group."  Tanis says, "It might become the greatest cultural and scientific discovery of the last century.  Likely a good idea to have some scientists along with you don't you think?"

"That's reasonable.  I'll be glad to have someone who can read Insert Fuchsia Crystals Only and someone who knows what a Fuchsia Crystal might be.  But anyone who comes with me is going to be wearing armor and know how to use a weapon.  If we run into a legend who styles himself The Destroyer, every shot counts."
