*Journal entry*

The first day after arrival here, at the ancient Fortress Amar. With the ideas already springing to my head, I doubt there will be time to sleep.  I write now with my offhand as ideas and sketches continue to spring forth from my mind and I have chosen my left and dominant hand to continue writing them as I jot down my thoughts of the day with this, my far less artistic right hand .

Amazing, breathtaking, every step I take I know that perhaps the Blood King himself walked these halls. Though it is a dream and a huge honor that I have been chosen for such a secret project at such a young age, I wonder too if it is a nightmare. I have seen him here, Thaddeus Quint....I am unsure weather to be embarassed, appalled, suprised or to have no reaction whatsoever to his presence. For now, I shall take the latter course and see what comes.

I have been assigned to work directly in the room housing the Eye of God. I only hope I can live up to the expectations those around me will assuredly place upon my shoulders. I shall work dilligently.

This letter will probably head out via e(nchanter's) mail after Sophia talks to Marcus.

T,

Looking for Fellspar.  Source says clues might be found in shipping logs at Royal Navigational Institute at Tyrnthal.  Source seems to have risked something in sharing information.  Can't go myself.  Too close to project.

Can you?

I've done it! I have done the impossible and recreated a form of Synergy Shard that has not been made since the times of the Blood King...perhaps even before that! It is amazing what one can do when given such amazing tools and artifacts to learn from. The Synergy Shard I have created is a replica of those found on the Eye of God itself, though I wonder if the Synergy powrders I used were too pure, this one seems more powerful than those imbedded in the Eye. I shall continue to observe.

After meeting with a few of the others for dinner, I have a feeling we will be uncovering some fantastic things here, and perhaps advancing our civilization by uncovering how many of these ancient perhaps even alien devices work. If we are correct and the Eye of God is some sort of portal device to go to other places, who knows where some of this technology has its origins. The breadth and depth of this work is overwhenming, but joyously so. My tiny part, I can only hope, will be part of this complex puzzle box we have begun to take the lid off.

It is amazing the things we have uncovered here at Sky'Loc. Not only have we discovered a cottage with pertinent information to what we believe to be a library of crystals stored with volumes of information but we have also discovered a large ancient device. I was able to power it with the Shard I created to copy those embedded within the eye and to my utter suprise it not only fit the device but brought it to life.

My next task will be discovering the purpose of a device that seems to show us different worlds. I am thinking of trying to communicate with someone if I should happen to find anyone on one of these otherwordly prejections. Tanis, Sophia's mentor, seems to be a kind man, and has mirrored my own thoughts on the Eye back home. Sergeant Vincennes ...Jack... I'm not really certain what to write about him..he comforts and un-nerves me at the same time. I've never been comfortable around militia of any sort and yet, he seems different, less cold than others I've had contatct with.

I shall have to sit down with Tanis and Sophia again and compare notes about the Witch's path and these Banshee again, really see what  we know. The last thing we need is to make a wrong step at a critical juncture.

A new place, and even more discoveries. We, Jack and I, are in something of a frozen wasteland. We've discovered a massive ice structure and within a mysterious device and a shaft filled with thick red liquid. The outside of the shaft is dotted with what appear to be small Synergy Shards, though of a shade I've never encounterd. Fascinating, really, as they seem to shift color in the light. I shall have to study them closely. The device is covered in ice that we hope to melt with a few portable heaters overnight as we rest.

I find myself more and more fascinated with this world, if I am even on the same world as before. Also, I fond myself enjoying my time with Jack, my military protector for all these discoveries. His kindness and insights have helped the discoveries we've made and helped me to overcome my shyness around him. Things that I would never think to do, like today, turning the dials experimentally I would have done days of research before trying a single one if I were still back at the college. He enboldens me, and I enjoy his company immensely. I hope for many long years of adventuring with him.
